Tsukishimamonja Kuya Shibuya

Dinner After day long of shopping and looking for late night place for some awesome food we landed up at Kuuya, this was best meal we had in our trip, excellent service amazing staff. Special thanks to Riku for our amazing food, we would highly recommend if you are in Shibuya. Very easy to locate ju...st next to scramble and below public. They have big space but it can still be crowded specially early evenings.

We had a late lunch here and ordered the monja grill. It was delicious and we heard that it is the tokyo version of okonomiyaki. It doesn't look the best, but tastes great.

We picked this restaurant on a whim, and were very happy with our choice. The restaurant style has the staff cooking your meal at a hotplate in the middle of your table, so you know it's fresh. We had two meals, squid ink seafood and kimchi pork and both were very good. Our server was Ami and her En...glish was good (our Japanese isn't). Luckily we arrived about 5pm and were able to get a table right away, there was a queue of about 10 or so people when we left, and on other nights when we walked past.

Not great experience for a family of 5. Waiting time between dishes was way too long, over 30 mins between dishes 2-3 (of which we had to order a minimum of 5). The heat inside the restaurant was unbearable from poor air flow, and the cooktops and poor air conditioning. The food wasn’t worth the wa...it or the heat. Not recommended for families.

We got half of our order, then waited over half an hour for the second item. Other people were served first while we continued to wait. They came with the bill and asked us to pay twice before giving us the food. I would think it might’ve been discrimination, but we had a Japanese person with us, so... it likely was not that. The food was not outstanding enough to errant this, although the location is good near Shibuya crossing.
