ICHIRAN Shinjukukabukicho

It was about a 15-20 minute walk from our Shinjuku Sunroute Hotel but locating it was a bit tricky as the entrance is located inside and the signs outside are only written in Japanese! Fortunately we had Google maps guide us here. There was somewhat a queue here ~20-25 people ahead of us around 6:45...p.m. We waited around 30-45 minutes from the entrance into the hall and down the staircase to the basement restaurant. The clerk arrived at the door and let us in when there was room available to purchase our chosen ramen meals (English available) at the ticket machine with your Pasmo/Suica cards or cash. Once done, we waited at another short line to be seated in assigned numbered booths with our meal tickets. The line keeps moving as people depart when done so service is very efficient. There were also hooks behind your booth to hang your personal items while eating. It was a great experience to eat in a personal booth. Highly recommended to try a ramen meal served in a booth in Japan!

Fantastic ramen experinece taking the family for there very first japanese ramen experience for them in shinjuku to get over the jetlag. Seated straighted away for 3 people in awesome seperate cubicles to slurp away in our booths. Just a handsdown easy ordering process in japanese and english which ...makes it so much more comfortable and being able to choose your strength of ramen for those who have picky eating habits and all on digital screen at entrance before seating then given paper to fill out your choice of ingredients. Fantastic service and having them cook it and deliver in your cubicle by curtain is just cool all around with the water fountain to fill up as many times you want and not wait on waiters and when you do need anyone the call buttons and double sided plauges to show is just fantastic to help make the questions and answers easier. Ramen was fantastic not a single complaint at all the taste and prensentation is spot on and hit the spot to fill me up and the family. Prices are ok as there is many cheaper options through japan tho the quiet secluded feeling from the hustle outside makes it worth it and the gift shop at front has all the souvineers to take home your ramen packs i just wish i bought more as in australia they just taste better then the instant ones at the supermarket. Great location great feed speedy service deffiantly come back again!

What an experience this was! Excellent ramen indeed and authentic to the local tradition. It’s a little jarring for Westerners like up to be in the line so long just to be seated at an individual booth to eat with no contact with your date or the server but we enjoyed the novelty of the format and t...he food was truly remarkable

First time trying Ichiran and it was great. I'd heard about it from people but it did not disappoint at all. The privacy allowed me to concentrate on the taste

This ramen is fantastic! The taste is great, and while it is definitely available for tourists, the flavors and history are so authentic. The little kae-dama tray ordering system is awesome! We went back several times :)
