“Outstanding tempura restaurant”
Hanamura is an outstanding tempura restaurant. The setting is very calm, the staff most gracious, and the tempura among the best in the world. My friends and I relaxed and enjoyed a special meal. I highly recommend the restaurant. It is an oasis of calm with delicious tempura.

“A gem for Tempura restaurant ”
It has been a year when I reviewed this gem of a restaurant. The owner/master is now 70+ years. We have been going to this gem of a tempura restaurant for over 30+ years, and never we were disappointed! Always consistent with great tasting shrimp tempura. As the years has gone by, the memory of a gr...eat tasting tempura always brings you back to this place. I have tried many others but this one is still my favourite!

“Amazing experience - hidden away”
Hard to find restaurant hidden just off a side road opposite the ici Akasaka hotel, we were met in the door way by 2 aged Japanese people who welcomed us in to what seemed like their home- we were motioned to remove our shoes and follow them upstairs to the dining area - wow it was like going back i...n time to when the restaurant originally opened 100+ years ago - very basic but very Japanese! No pomp or ceremony as non was needed - we sat on a lip on the floor with feet under us not uncomfortable but sonething I’d never done before and sat at the long bar. The menu was very limited but this is a tempura restaurant so that’s what you get. The aged man then proceeded to fry the vegetables and fish in front of us and serve our food freshly prepared just for us - a very unique experience in a very unique place. The price wasn’t cheap approx £55 per couple but it was more the experience of this amazing place but the tempura was very fresh and tasty - I just wanted more! They didn’t speak much English but we got by- I’m so glad we found this place.

Very authentic restaurant - with long history of providing amazing food. Family run and really friendly. Highly recommend this.

“Never disappointed ”
Great Tempura restaurant. Over 50 years in the trade. First generation tempura master even wrote a book about preparing tempura. Now second generation, still cooking and the third generation is on board too. Great tasting experience and considered a regular as we visit this establishment every chanc...e we get to Tokyo!
