“A definite must-try”
(visited in Mar-2016) It turned out fabulous as our first to reserve (another place), failed. The season is nearing the end, I suppose for ankou nabe (sea devil fish hot pot). Base of omiso paste and kimo (liver) paste, which was pre-smashed by chef. Plenty of veggie too, definitely a healthy dish.... The portion looks big at first, but not an issue at all, as it turns out. The rice and egg serving at the very end, is super delicious. Parking is available just opposite the restaurant, which ground is part of parking for bank clients, per advice. May be just on weekend, it is free. Do check with restaurant if you plan to drive there on weekdays. A short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the Oarai city ward office. There is a bus stop. nearby too. Close to sea port and Mentai Park too (about 10 minutes walk from the restaurant.) There is a very entertaining lady host to serve you (only in JP, though). Please have someone who understand JP well. For lunch, may be payment in cash only. This dish set is only available in winter season, ending in late March-2016 unless advance reservation is made. They will serve by freezing the fish for off-season months. It is of JP tatami-style seating and shoes will be taken off at genkan area. 2-3 tables can sit 6 persons. Large group can be easily accommodated too. DO MAKE SURE reservation is made before going.
