Toranomon Lucky

We went to Lucky for our last night in Tokyo after a long visit in Japan. It was truly a memorable experience. Between the generous hospitality, the yummy food, and overall good humor and fun. It was fantastic! I highly recommend!

Toranomon Hills is a vibrant area like Roppongi, hosting many exhibitions and art events. We visited Toranomon Raki, a popular Japanese restaurant on the 4th floor of the Station Tower. The name “Raki” is read as “Lucky.” This place is almost always fully booked, so reservation is essential via Ja...panese gourmet websites. The menu offers beautifully presented seasonal sashimi, sushi, and special dishes. Seasonal Sashimi Platter (4 kinds) – 3,800 yen Tuna from Hokkaido, horse mackerel, pike conger, and octopus were incredibly fresh. The tuna was thick-cut and perfectly balanced in flavor. Steamed Conger Eel Omelet – 1,800 yen A fluffy omelet with rich dashi broth and tender eel. It melts in your mouth. Authentic Sichuan Lamb Mapo Tofu – 1,500 yen Served bubbling hot in a clay pot, combining lamb’s robust taste with fresh herbs and crunchy wood ear mushrooms. Homemade Green Tea Soba with Sea Urchin and Yamagata Dashi – 2 servings, 2,800 yen Cold soba topped with creamy sea urchin and refreshing summer vegetables. Note: Staff do not speak English, but there is a paper English menu available. Such a fun spot with wonderful atmosphere, delicious izakaya, and a really warm, welcoming staff. We sat at the bar and loved watching them prepare all the interesting small plates! Highly recommend

All the dishes are the best! Izakaya with great Japanese food The original cocktails have fruit in them and look cute and instagrammable! Amazingly, you can even eat sushi! The waitresses are kind and great!
