I booked online for a table and the crab kaiseki course so I just had to turn up for the reservation. Upon entry, the atrium was quite interesting. It looked like a historic room with seating. I wasn't able to look around much since I was able to go directly to my table. Because of this, I missed th...e Wi-Fi details. You do need to take off your shoes upon entry into the dining area. The restaurant was really interesting to walk through. A large wooden structure which looks like a traditional Japanese building, decorated with many interesting items, including a stuffed bear. The dining area was quite interesting as it consisted of private tables which were recessed into the floor. This meant that no one could watch you manhandle your crab. I did get a physical menu to look through and there was a digital one on the table. The courses were well-paced. The different items came out after completing the previous one. The table had all the utensils needed to grab all the tasty meat off the shell. Most of the items were also prepared in a way which made them easy to access. What I liked about this course was that I was able to try the different ways that crab could be served. I quite liked the grilled and tempura crab. I quite enjoyed the meal. It wasn't cheap but it was an experience.

Great Dinner for Crab Lovers! Not only does this place have an amazing assortment of seafood and crab but was able to accommodate a guest who spoke no Japanese. I went for one of the multi dish meals and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend going with the set menu option as the choices can be ...a little overwhelming. You can start at 8 dishes and they range up to 12 or more - and this is for 1 person! There was crab sushi, crab tofu, crab shabu shabu, fried crab, shumai, etc. Staff was great. It was a super fun evening!

Came here because this is the well known restaurant for Hokkaido crab in Sapporo. Crab was fresh, soup base is light which is a perfect match with the crab so one can taste the crab flavour. The vegetable is another good match that it soaks up all crab flavour. Make sure to order the rice. The w...aitress will put the rice into the soup so nothing will be waste. Highly recommended. It's not expensive at all for the quality of food and service. No one can find the same in Canada or HK.

We came to this restaurant for our Christmas Day dinner and I must say that the shabu shabu blew us away. The crabs were extremely fresh and to top it all off, we ordered the crab porridge. A staff would prepare the porridge using the crab broth from the shabu shabu. One of the best meals during our... trip.

Made a reservation on the day through the hotel, and the hotel gave a 10% discount coupon. We stayed near Sapporo Station and walked about 20 minutes to Susukino Kani Shogun. There is a sister restaurant Kaniya just located next door. We did not order set meal but a la carte dishes. We ordered one ...whole haired crab, grilled king crab legs, and queen crab tempura. The haired crab was very good and very fresh. The grilled king crab legs is not well done and should grill for a little longer, so is a little watery. The tempura is just good. We also ordered a hida beef shabu shabu. But the taste fell short of our experience and came in a very small portion.
