Suishokuizakaya Yama-no Saru Otaruekimaeten

We see this restaurant by Trip Advisor and decided to go in ( the restaurant look good, we loved the way the restaurant put each group of customer in separate room ). BUT the service is the worst of worst. We order 8-9 dishes. Then they bring out 2 dish of vegetable then we have to wait nearly 45 mi...ns for the next dish. The food are really good, but they not enough to be full. We have to wait 3 hours in total and only ate 5-6 dish ( after the first dish we order 2 more dish ) When we call them in after 1:30 hour waiting and without foods only that one girl who understand a little bit of English come in. She said sorry and brought in 1-2 more dish but after that. They don’t even come in when we rang the bell. There a lot of restaurant in Otaru so to be honest you shouldn’t go in this restaurant, we spend a lot hours, and money but the result is not what our family expected.

Stayed at the DormyInn in front of the Otaru Eki. Went to Yama no saru and found the whole experience really enjoyable. Food is great, the set up to have your own little room to enjoy meal is definitely welcomed. Costed me 4500 Yen for two beer and six dishes. Good price!

We were attracted by the sign board outside the restaurant said all you can drink. We walked in and were asked how many people were in our group. We said two and immediately heard the waitress announced : "Two foreigners". I think it was quite rude. Next we were arranged in a private room with 4 sea...ts and given a bowl of green beans without any further information. We thought it was free so we ate it. We looked for the menu of all you can drink but there was none so we chose to eat hot pot. The hot pot is very salty. And when we have just finished our meal, a waitress came in without asking for permission and started to collect all the dishes in the table. I think she tried to tell us it's time for us to leave (again very rude). When we received the bill, the bill included our hot pot, the green beans bowl and the additional fee for leaving 2 empty seats in a room of 4, which no one said anything about that. I strongly warn all foreigners to stay away from this restaurant. There are plenty of restaurant in Otaru so there are no reason why you should be treated like that. The food is bad, the manner is worse
