“Good quality king crab but pricey”
3 of us ordered the seasonal course, uni course and abalone course. The appetizers are varied and appealing. The uni very creamy and fresh, and the abalone freshly grilled right next to us. The restaurant gave us a huge 3.4kg king crab for the 3 of us to share. We had it in sashimi, shabu and grill.... They were all nice in their own ways. I personally like the body meat of the crab as it has the best flavour. The price in the end came to 101k which I thought was quite pricey. Anyway it was a good experience with the chef killing, preparing and cooking the crab right next to us. Good fun!

“KING Crab live cooking experience”
While we have had many king crab dinners, this is a first where we get to see the chef prepare the crab and cook it in front of us. Had king crab sashimi, the legs boiled on salt water which gives a different levels of salty taste depending on which part of legs they were. We were spoilt with a hu...ge 2.7kg crab for just 2 persons!!! In fact was too much and the rest of our vacation in Hokkaido we did not want to eat crab even though there were plenty at hotels’ dinner buffets, and they did not taste as great as at Katsukani no Hanasaki. Would recommend this restaurant if u like to see a live cooking demo and beats the 5 storey king crab restaurants that are quite common in cities like Tokyo and Sapporo.

“Happening, fun and enjoyed it”
I found this restaurant from the tripadvisor. I surveyed the reports but not fully I'm afraid. I got a few important words: not cheap, very good, average 20,000 Yen, dinner with family, etc. I made the fact in mind: two men can enjoy a King Crab dish fully in their stomach by about 20,000 Yen and so...me more with drinking beer. We got there and ordered beer first. A very fantastic appetizer was served each to us. It was not our expectation and recognized something wrong is happening. We checked the menu and learned the menu is composed of only two courses: VIP and seasonal courses. The later one is cheaper than the other one but costs about 25,000 per person. We should have paid 50,000 for the cheaper course. We were embarrassed deeply because we were not available for that price. The chef came to us to get the situation and we apologized deeply for our misunderstanding. The chef told us: "OK, I got it. please take the appetizer and I will serve it for free. Instead you buy a beer for me." Both of us made a deal. We had several beers and enjoyed the moment a lot. The chef really like beer. I recommend you to buy a beer for him if you there. It would be a wonderful memory in my life. I have to tell you the appetizer was so much fantastic. I'm sure the remaining also will be.

“THE place to eat King Crab”
This restaurant is all about King Crab!! And if you love to eat King Crab, you will most likely enjoy this dining experience. Reservation is a must because the chef / owner, will dispatch, cook & serve the crab right in your private room, so it is important to properly schedule each reservation. ...If you are a bit squeamish about seeing a live crab get cut up... well, you may want to look the other way... It doesn't get fresher than this... very delicious and very nicely & properly prepared. The crab is cut up and each part cooked and eaten differently. Very well done. The chef / owner is an excellent host, as well as every person of the staff. Overall a very good dining experience. Oh, the saki selection is excellent. The only issue is the price. Not cheap but then again, you get excellent service and the chef personally cooking the crab right in front of you.

“Crab is the Specialty”
I enjoyed the Crab at this place and as per the majority of Japanese eateries they do a good job. The place is traditional and typical. I found the prices reasonable but this place is probably not top end (in all aspects) but certainly worth a visit for more casual dining i.e. not a suit & tie kind... of place with gushing service.
