Sekkatei

There are many tasty foods in Hokkaido. One of my visiting to Hokkaido is to taste Crab. Boiled Crab, Shabu-shabu Crab, gratinCrab,,,,all dishes are tasty. I enjoyed Crab.

This wonderful gem provides exceptional service in a beautiful setting. It is classic Japanese. The wait staff is dressed as you would expect. The food is excellent but you have to cook it yourself. This is most of the fun.

Went with family. Wanted to have a crab feast. Was pondering whether it shd be this restaurant or one of the "chains" (typically with huge crab model on the top of the building or above their entrances). Chose Sekkatei at the end. The food was ok but we didn't thk it was any better than the other ...specialist shops we have been too, not even the chains. We didn't thk the crabs were as good as some others that we have tasted elsewhere. We had a variety ordered from the a la carte. Perhaps we shd have gone for fixed crab feast menu. We got our own room - who is great given we have 2 kids. The service was good. Anyhow - unlikely to return but it was decent enough that I won't write anything negative.
