Atmosphere and location are great. Went shortly before they were closing the kitchen for food and felt a bit rushed to order. Completely missed the weird phrasing and pricing of the Peking duck. If you have had authentic Peking in China do not order this meal. It was just the skin, no meat and ...expensive. The portion is small and not filling. I would have hoped they’d clarified this for me when I ordered but they gave no warning. When the dish arrived, I had to confirm what it actually was. Other than that, the other things we ordered were good but nothing special.

tohkasaikan restaurant, is old school Chinese. It reminds me of the old tea houses in HK. The ambience is classic, the view spectacular. I've ate here cause after too many tempuras, too many seafood, too many ways & kobe beefs, I enjoyed simple choi sam, gyozas, and peking duck. Refreshingly simple... and nutritious.

There are two restaurants. The riverside restaurant had a deck built over the riverside. Beijing style food quite different from Cantonese style. One downside: they should remove the shark-fin soup from the menu.

Decided to try this Chinese restaurant for a change from Japanese food. Should have trusted our instincts and walked out when we were taken to side room on 5th floor with none of the charm we were anticipating in a classical building. Food was plain and disappointing. Hard to believe it was chicken ...in the stirfry main. Mains also came before starters. Service was abrupt. All up, a bad experience.
