Tajima

In the Kobe Portopia Hotel, Tajima is a very refined teppanyaki restaurant. Wonderful Japanese ambience, and large assortment of delicious steaks. A variety of set meals to select from, with different cuts of meat and portion sizes. Full meal includes tea, appetizer, entree, and dessert. We had t...he large portion Kobe steak meal, which was beyond belief. All food is prepared right in front of you on the spotless stainless steel teppanyaki grill, by a master chef. Your mouth waters as each dish is carefully prepared from the best ingredients. You are provided with a very nice white cotton apron to wear by the extremely courteous wait staff. Wide range of sake and other alcoholic beverages. Your meal with be the memory of a lifetime!

It's reasonably-priced for a hotel restaurant. Very good teppanyaki without the "entertainment" of food being thrown at you. Nice steak and well-cooked. Set menu with appetiser and dessert.

Well its ok for kobe beef, since nowadays very melting in your mouth kobe beef is in less fat compare to 10 years ago.

I ate at Tajima during a stay at the Portopia. I wanted Kobe beef and it's something they have on the menu. The restaurant is bright and airy and the staff are incredibly attentive. The menu has quite a good range of options but the set menus seem to be the best option as you get to try quite a few ...things. I had one of the Kobe beef sets which was incredible. The chef, who obviously cooks it all in front of you, was excellent - and adds quite an entertaining dimension to dinner.
