“Nice but once is enough”
Eating this for a second time after 4 years and don’t think it’s as tasty as before. Prices also went up considerably but still you will have longs queues due to its popularity. Had the 10 sticks version with a beer and bill came up to 2500yen. One of the few places in Japan where there’s actuall...y taxes billed to the consumer in the final bill, do take note. Try it once if you haven’t but after that there are much more better stuff to eat in Japan.

“Kushikatsu when you come to Osaka❗️”
Kushikatsu debut in Dotonbori. We had delicious freshly fried kushikatsu with beer. Next time I want to come with my grandchildren❣️

“Deep fried skewers”
Our guide said he could eat 50 skewers. My question: WHY? In a city known for great beef, pork, seafood and vegetables, at this restaurant you get slivers of unremarkable filling in breaded skewers. The big gimmick is the prohibition on double dipping in a tin of sauce. Nothing at all to write home... about.

“Great fried food, great experience, don't go for the atmosphere”
It is cramped and crowded because the food is delicious and delightful. This is a fabulous way to experience local Osaka culture. There are multiple locations so if this one is too busy there is a new one in Shin-Osaka station. For people with a large appetite, you should probably use this place as... your first couple of courses and top up elsewhere for the rest of your lunch or dinner. This was the only comment I received from someone in my group.

“Convenient location, friendly staff ”
Very fun experience. Conveniently close to the tower and across a souvenir shop so you can eat lunch after you do your shopping! The staff was very friendly and spoke English. There was also an English menu. For kushikatsu first-timers, there is a box of sauce on the table.DON’T DOUBLE DIP. It’s sta...ted explicitly through a number of signs. They give you some cabbage as an appetizer and it’s actually pretty good when dipped in the sauce. We got the beef tendon which was in a miso sauce and was SO TENDER. Would get again. We also ordered the chefs choice of kushikatsu which is what I’d recommend if you have 3-4 people and want an assortment. It’s basically a variety of items that are deep fried and on skewers that you can dip in the sauce. There are quite a few vegetables for the vegetarians. There is a guide to what’s what. Half of the fun is figuring out what you’re eating. I liked the rice balls best. Overall a clean place with friendly staff and close proximity to a tourist attraction.
