Kushikatsu is one of Osaka’s most iconic comfort foods, and this small, local shop offers a truly authentic experience. Recommended by a friend, we visited this cozy establishment with only around ten seats. The space may be compact, but it creates a warm and intimate atmosphere. The owner was incr...edibly welcoming, and even though it’s a traditional shop, they provided a Chinese menu and kindly explained some of the skewers in simple Chinese. After trying a variety of classic items, we decided to explore some of Osaka’s specialties, including pickled ginger, lotus root, and even a unique deep-fried onsen egg skewer. Each had its own distinct texture and flavor, making the experience both fun and memorable. While fried food can feel a bit heavy after a while, the fresh and juicy cabbage served alongside helped balance everything perfectly — even kids loved it. Looking up, the iconic sign with the “grumpy-looking owner” added a playful and unforgettable touch to the whole experience. 這就是大阪最道地、最有生活感的一面。 これこそが大阪らしい、ローカルで温かみのある食体験です。

Very deliciously fried and nice to Americans… a special treat. All the food is excellent and for sure recommend a beer with the meal.

It's fun to visit this once to experience kushikatsu, but once is probably enough. It's fried stuff on a stick with a dipping sauce.

Eating this for a second time after 4 years and don’t think it’s as tasty as before. Prices also went up considerably but still you will have longs queues due to its popularity. Had the 10 sticks version with a beer and bill came up to 2500yen. One of the few places in Japan where there’s actuall...y taxes billed to the consumer in the final bill, do take note. Try it once if you haven’t but after that there are much more better stuff to eat in Japan.

Kushikatsu debut in Dotonbori. We had delicious freshly fried kushikatsu with beer. Next time I want to come with my grandchildren❣️
