“Excellent Champagne Brunch”

First time to try this restaurant, inside the Kobe Bay Sheraton. Strongly recommend book, people without reservations were being turned away when they opened at 11:30. Comprehensive dim sum menu which can made to order and brought to your table, plus the mandatory roving wagon. Freeflow Piper-Heidsi...eck champagne, glasses replenished by staff. Food was excellent, spoilt for choice and able to try everything I wanted to. They do have more than one service, so it's not a meal you can linger over, but you have ample time to fill yourself! A little over 20,000 yen with tax for two.

“Where's the Meat??”

If only we hadn't ordered Peking Duck here.....but we did, and this is the basis for the review of our meal here (which would have been much better if we had not ordered the duck). It was a special occasion, so we decided to go for the Peking Duck (¥14,000!). The chef wheeled it into our private r...oom and proceeded to first cut the crispy skin, presenting it to us wrapped with the proper condiments. All was fine. Then they wheeled the succulent looking duck out....and that was the last we ever saw of it. When we asked where the meat was, we were told Japanese don't believe in eating duck meat. I am sure they noticed we were not Japanese. Needless to say, none of us were happy with this pronouncement, particularly in light of the fact the dinner cost at least $500. What could have been a good meal was completely over-shadowed by questions about a duck. Although we addressed the issue, no one every acknowledged our disappointment. Based on this, I would not recommend this restaurant.

“wasting a good lunch opportunity”

I am one of those people who enjoy eating, restaurants, it is a near daily experience, regretfully not always the pleasure it should be. This restaurant gives you food, does not manage to create any atmosphere, certainly not a Chinese one, the foot is bland, tasteless, only differentiated by sauces..., not by the taste of the actual product. Closing my eyes I could not say, what I was eating, but I could guess the sweat and sour sauce meant it must be pork or chicken, the slightly spicy watery sauce meant I was eating something in the form of a shrimp, the soup, ... was hot, which is good. The service was civil, not friendly, not courteous , not professional, waiters and waitresses on the verge of rude sometimes, never" serving " , always disturbing, interrupting conversations... In brief, of all the opportunities one has to eat in japan, but the limited number of lunches my lifetime has, this was a waste of my time and the opportunity for a good lunch. I blame any restaurant that does that to me
