“A hidden gem of Kyoto’s humble yet delicious restaurant”
It is a humble Kaiseki restaurant where you meet more locals than tourists. Reasonably priced and more focused on home style Kyoto dish. Excellent dining experience.

“A jewel of a restaurant”
Hidden quietly in a secluded alley, and romantically facing the canal, this is a peaceful gem. There are two tables, four counter seats and a tatami room. The three cooks and charming waitress all speak adequate English, and they really try to accommodate the guests. We were two for dinner and each ...had a different Omakase, which was impressive since almost all the dishes were different. The cooking is exquisite and the prices reasonable. The Salad with 20 ingredients, Wagyu beef, the dobin-mushi were all well prepared. The Omakase menu comprised some 8 dishes including a surprising crema catalana that came as a welcome surprise at the end. While every dish is prepared with competence, care and a certain flair and even humor, there is nothing fussy about this cooking. Highly recommended!

“Try it!”
English menu not available, but the waitress was very kind and helped us in choosing our dinner courses (she was speaking English). You can have 2 fixed menus, at 6000 yen or 8000 yen. The food is delicious.

“Best meal in Japan over a month!”
We stumbled across this place by accident. It was a phenomenal meal from start to finish, along with charming chefs and staff. We had the 6000Y a head set meal and found the 8 courses to all be heavenly and excellent value. This is a hidden wonder. Go!
