In February, I made a reservation on the phone for March 25 (a Friday) for my wife’s birthday. However, when that day arrived and we showed up for our reservation, there was a horrible disappointment. The staff member had made a mistake and booked our reservation for the same day on the next week, a...nd the restaurant on this night had been booked for a company dinner. Bitter disappointment. We had to go elsewhere for my wife’s birthday dinner and forego the wonderful view and splendid cuisine. BUT, THERE IS A HAPPY ENDING The next day, I received a phone call from the restaurant manager, who then proceeded to drive all the way across Osaka to our apartment and deliver a dinner certificate. We would get a free dinner anytime we wanted to re-visit their restaurant. AND THE SERVICE WHEN WE WENT… We decided that our wedding anniversary was a worthy event of this top-notch restaurant and made a reservation for April 11. When we arrived, we were made to feel like celebrities - with the entire wait staff waiting for us in the hotel corridor that leads to the restaurant. We were served a fantastic meal, with staff taking time to fully explain each dish. My favorite was the salad, which was full of surprising flavor sensations. We were also treated to a glass of champagne each, to toast our anniversary. And after the meal, presented with a dessert plate that celebrated our anniversary. WHY DOESN’T EVERY RESTAURANT DO THIS? Obviously, Laguna Veil trains their staff in how to provide the best service. Yes, the restaurant had messed up our first reservation, but they certainly made up for it with the fantastic dinner and impeccable service. We shall return!
