“The home of community entertainment in Osaka!”
The Absinthe Underground is a hidden gem located in the heart of Osaka's Amemura (American Village) district. I am an expat living in Osaka and discovered the venue in late 2025. I am a producer with Kansai Comedy and we started running our comedy shows here in early 2026. It is one of the best comm...unity venues I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Great food, great drinks, great community and service. You gotta check it out if you live in or are visiting Osaka!! They have live shows for just about any interest; standup comedy, improv, music jams, DJ events, Drag nights, you name it!

Cafe ABSINTHE is a charming spot tucked near Shinsaibashi, perfect for everything from casual lunches to evening drinks. The Mediterranean cuisine is flavorful and thoughtfully prepared—especially the hummus and falafel. It's great for both vegans and meat-eaters alike. The vibe is relaxed, making i...t ideal for dates or a chill hangout. Cocktails are creative and well-made, and the absinthe selection definitely stands out. Only downside was the slightly slow service during peak time, but nothing too disruptive. Overall, a solid experience worth repeating.

“Veggie and cocktail delight”
Good choice of vegetarian and vegan food. The vibe is laid back and cafe style in appearance. But we are impressed by the attention to detail in the cocktail making - proper fresh fruits and chilled glasses.

Had a great atmosphere and the food was absolutely fantastic. Came here on a whim as one of our group was vegetarian and everything we ordered was delicious!
