“A Restaurant to Know About”
This is a sophisticated, lovely yet unpretentious restaurant. This is not your Italian 40+ variety of pasta place. The chef is highly skilled, serving thoughtful, carefully curated, truly flavorful dishes. The set menu offerings present incredible value and the service and wine list are excellent.... The chestnut desert is reason enough to book. Small, quiet, elegant and absolutely delicious. We made a reservation for a return visit immediately after finishing lunch. Quite a find here in Kyoto.

“Very nice and friendly Italian restaurant”
Went here for some comfort food after a busy week. Food was lovely, and the chef and staff very welcoming. Classic Italian dishes, including pasta, with some Japanese touches, all freshly prepared. The restaurant is cosy, and you can also sit at the counter.

“Fine Italian trattoria by a Japanese chef”
As a fan of good Italian food, I can strongly recommend La Trattoria. You get served the finest Italian meals, that taste as good as you would savour them in Italy itself. Don't go here if you expect pizza, but the entrees, pastas and main dishes are enjoyable mediterranean. Good value for money, ev...en more when choosing the flexible menus. Also a very nice selection of Italian wines, even by the glass.

“Tasty, detailed, welcoming”
Had strong reviews from Michelin and lived up to it; lovely 'red snapper' style carpaccio starter (accompanied by a lively cava by the glass) and coffee and chestnut pudding were two highlights for me. Our youngster devoured a bolognese pasta and pineapple coconut cake and lemon sorbet. Wines by t...he glass were well priced and well suited to the food. Service was friendly and very welcoming.

“Genuine Italian in Japanese style”
A very pleasant and welcoming Italian restaurant in the middle of Central Kyoto. If you need a change from the Japanese food, as I do after a week in Japan, then this restaurant is a very good bet. Not the cheapest, but a restaurant well founded in Italian cooking, combining classic Italian with a m...ore touch. Great taste and delicately served and as usual in Japan a great sense of detail. Service excellent and the wine absolutely acceptable.
