“Fine dining experiencet”
We had lunch at Hassun and the food was top notch. The location is pretty small which makes for quite an intimate experience. Great use of ingredients and the food had amazing flavour. Chefs used a book with pictures to show us what was being prepared and served.

We went for dinner, is a counter restaurant for approximately 10-12 people. One of the chef speaks English, the master chef understands a little bit of English and he will smile all the time, all the chefs are on their "getas" (wooden shoes). Food is excellent, served an unique manner... Need to re...serve with enough time.

“A bit awkward ”
First of all, the food was top notch, very beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. No complaints there. There was one English speaking chef and he served us very well. He explained each ingredient from a big Book full of pictures and English names of fish, vegetables etc. That was very helpful. ...No complaints there either. We sat at the counter and it was a full house. The head chef/ owner maybe was very cheerful, talking, joking and exchanging sake with EVERYONE (Japanese) at the counter except us. He never once acknowledge us, utter a word to us or even smile or nod at us. We were invisible to him. He may not speak fluent English but a little welcome gesture would be nice. Very unpleasant. BTW this was the most expensive meal in my whole trip and I didn’t feel welcome.

“Marvelous food, presentation, and hospitality”
We had an absolutely delightful lunch at Hassun. 9 people being served and 4 chefs. Each dish is a markable creation, with attention to taste, artful presentation, and texture. One specific chef took the time to show us the components of each dish in a large book that looked like a textbook of kaise...ki. Very cool, and it really added to our understanding of the meal. Paired with some crisp sake, it was a quintessential Japanese meal. We are so glad we came to Hassun. Spectacular and accessible.

One counter with 4 cooks and seats for 10 or 12 people. On this Saturday it was 2 couples only. So lots of space and a exclusive view on all the craftsmanship. 10 courses in a bit more than 2 hours. We had flavors that we never tasted before. Mostly fish, vegetable and one course with chicken. Very ...special feeling overall. In a star dotted itinerary this one stood out!
