I almost missed this place because it's so small from the outside, but I'm really glad we decided to eat here. If you're looking for a seafood izakaya in Umeda, this one is definitely worth checking out. The main stars of the night were the Hamayaki Special (Assorted Shells) + Dried Squid. The shel...lfishes were so fresh and tasty. They brought happy memories back home. Another surprise was the oysters. They're only ¥100 each, but they're fresh, plump, and surprisingly big. You can eat them raw with lemon and different seasonings, or grill them yourself. At this price, I honestly ordered more than I planned to. The 5 Kinds Assorted Sashimi was another favorite. I ordered two because I thought the serving would be small, but the slices were huge! We actually struggled to finish everything because we had already ordered several other dishes. Lesson learned: one order is probably enough for two people. I also liked the Bang Bang Chicken Salad because it was light and refreshing, and the grilled cream cheese went unexpectedly well with the grilled oysters. Don't be surprised by the ¥380 otoshi charge because it's standard for izakayas. We were served dried fish that you grill yourself, and it reminded me of the dried fish I grew up eating in my home country. Another reason to visit is their Happy Hour from 4 PM to 6 PM, where most drinks are only ¥49. That's honestly hard to beat. And by the way, they have a variety of sake you can choose from. If you want to try different sake while enjoying a platter of grilled seafood, you are in the right place. The restaurant has that old-school Japanese izakaya feel with counter seats and tables, and even though smoking is allowed, it didn't stop families from dining there. We even saw a family with two kids during our visit. My only minor complaints are that the horumon stir-fry was a bit chewy (although the flavor was good), and I hope they can improve the shared restroom by adding a toilet seat cleaner/disinfectant dispenser. Overall, this place offers amazing value for money. Fresh seafood, generous sashimi portions, affordable oysters, and cheap drinks. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in Umeda.

I visited an authentic Japanese izakaya with the kind of atmosphere you’d imagine after work, where many Japanese salarymen gather. The vibe felt so local and truly gave me the authentic Japan experience. 🇯🇵✨ Every dish was delicious, but the oysters were definitely my favorite—they were incredibly... fresh! The seafood was grilled right at the table, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking to experience a real Japanese izakaya with authentic food and a lively local atmosphere, this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss.

Had a great time. The food was good, and the menu (both dishes and drinks) was interesting. Relaxed vibe when I went, though I imagine it can get more energetic given the time you go and the crowd.

Went here for a weekday date and was so happy to catch the happy hour! 🍻 It was my first time trying to do tabletop grilling and we had the Hamayaki Special, which is a platter of fresh seafood! Had some sashimi, too! Really amazed by the freshness and presentation of the food! We also enjoyed vari...ous kinds of sake and drinks. My favorite was the Strawberry Ginger Chuhai 🥰 I’m so happy with the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Great location near the Osaka Metro subway. Will definitely come back next time!

Wasshoi Sakaba EN offered one of the more memorable dining experiences of our trip. The chance to grill fresh seafood at the table made the meal feel much more engaging than a standard restaurant visit. The Hamayaki platter was excellent, especially the squid and shellfish. I also enjoyed the sashi...mi, which was clearly very fresh. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, and the service was friendly throughout the evening. This is a great choice for visitors who want to enjoy seafood in a casual Osaka izakaya setting.
