"Banya Hana" A short 6 to 7-minute walk from Sakaisuji-Hommachi, this is a cozy restaurant with a calming atmosphere. The seating consists solely of a "Konoji( "L" turned sideways to the right.)" shaped counter encircling the cooking area. You get to watch the ingredients being prepared right in fr...ont of you, and the dishes are served immediately, all of which are quite delicious. They have recently added an English menu, making it easier for international guests to understand, and quite a few visitors from overseas have been coming. There's also a wide selection of Japanese sake available. Those who enjoy Japanese sake will likely be satisfied. To start, you should definitely try the sashimi, followed by either a fried or grilled dish, and the "dashi-maki tamago" (rolled omelet with broth) is a must. There are many other menu items that will leave you deliberating over what to choose. The operation is run by just two people, so service can slow down when the restaurant gets busy, but please take the time to enjoy the experience. It's recommended to visit in pairs, or up to three people at most.

Stumbled upon this outstanding little place with incredible food that is worthy of a Michelin. If you have ever watched Midnight Diner on Netflix, then this place is for you! Highly recommend the sashimi, grilled fish and Saba onigiri. Pretty much eat whatever they serve you…it’s that good.

It Looks topical Japanese Izakaya style with only counter restaurant,no table. atmosphere is so good . Price was affordable to all dishes, and materials were so fresh and good to cook. They have only Japanese menu however you will be able to order easily due to you can see a lot of dishes which othe...r people have. Please try to visit and enjoy!

Had a nice little late-night meal and drink here. I might have seasoned things a bit more, but the friendliness of the staff more than made up for it! And I loved being able to sit at the bar and watch the food be prepared with great care!

This was my second visit, and even more impressed with the food and drink that the 26-year-old proprietor, Shibata-San, would recommend with the acumen of a Michelin chef - and if this place more broadly is discovered it easily see could be on the star list. Sake from Miyagi, tofu and small squid, a... tempura or lotus root to die for, as well as terrific atmosphere and appropriate pricing in a hopping neighborhood. The staff is friendly, informative and well-trained - do yourself a favor and enjoy the best of Osaka hospitality.
