“Dissapointing!”

Reviewed 21/Apr/2024

This was the most expensive meal of our trip and unfortunatley the worst one. We shouldn't have bothered when they informed us that there wasnt a childrens menu and the price for the children and adult is the same which is unfair and a colossal waste ( of money and food) as no child can eat as much... as an adult. The staff were sweet but I found the whole environment stifling. I eat pretty much everything and even I could't enjoy half of it. My children struggled and starved !! The beef which is what they were looking for was extremely rare and my child couldnt chew it so he almost choked on it. We didnt even finish all the courses. A few things were nice like the rice, one or two starters, dessert etc. Even the quality of the sashimi was average ( at best).Nothing to write home about infact quite the opposite ! Very dissapointing!

“Paid $700 USD to get humilated by Chef”

DO NOT COME HERE! Our family was refused because they said no babies, and my 15 month old daughter had to be abandoned with our plans changed. Mind you, it was no where to be written on their website saying no children allowed or any rules as such. I tried to contact via email, via social media to e...nsure but no responses. As I am a tourist visiting, i got my hotel to call the restaurant so they could help me ask in Japanese. The restaurant said they cannot allow a baby in, and we ask if any exceptions can be done or we could pay if possible. They said no, and the charge of $500 USD has been transacted on my card and whether or not we choose to go ahead to dine without our baby they will not release the amount It was also my birthday and my dad's birthday celebration sadly to be ruined by the chef. The food was less than mediocre, we were seated at level 2 and the only saving grace was the English speaking waitress that attended to us. She spoke very good English and had great hospitality A deposit full payment was collected at 3pm and upon leaving i had to sign off another amount of $700 or so. My credit card shows 2 charges so I politely asked the waitress if the other charge would be reversed, she was very kind to check. As we booked on Table Check, but the chef was screaming in Japanese from level 1, of course i couldn't understand so i asked her what did he say. The chef told me to get out of restaurant and call the police if I have issues. I called my bank to check and they said the amount has just been reversed and relased. We were a tourist and first time using table check, all the chef could do was just to let us know that was a holding amount but guess he was a is a high level self Centred chef who refused babies and charge 500 yen for a little bit of wasabi Gosh, we spent so much at this restaurant for a mediocre meal of 3 tiny pieces of beef, 2 tiny pieces of fried fish, 3 pieces of bonito, 1 tiny bowl of eel soup, 1 tiny bowl of rice and soup and a desert. To get this kind of treatment is really shameful, yes he is a chef i respect that and although our baby was refused we still came for a birthday celebration. The last amazing thing to let u all know, we asked for a little more wasabi and soya sauce, chef insisted to charge us 500 yen, we already spent 700 USD mind you. Been to other omakase and kaiseiki around the world but nothing quite like this, to spend a hefty amount just to get this kind of humiliation. It was my father's 70th birthday celebration, his 1st omakase. I regret coming here

Excellent and well-priced kaiseiki. The service was excellent with English speaking staff. The vibe is luxurious without being stuffy or formal.

“Value for money Kaiseki dinner ”

This is a budget friendly place for a Kaiseki dinner. The ingredients (Toro, Lobster, Uni, Balck Beef & etc.) used to prepare this meal were good & expensive stuff. Our server Mya speaks good English & very attentive to our needs. This place is a hidden germ because is not located near the tourist ...area, or else it wouldn't be budget friendly.
