“Beautiful small dishes in Kyoto-style!”
Tankumakitamise located in the 1st basement floor of the Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto. Here they serve typical Kyoto-style cuisine. We had Japanese dinner course that included Japanese Dish Zensai (an hors d’oeuvre), Nimonowan (boiled dish), Tsukuri (Sea bream), Yakimono (broiled Barracudas) and so on. W...e could eat the dishes with not only palate but also eyes because dishes were very beautiful and on traditional Japanese plates. We drank nonalcoholic beer. Staffs were very kindly.

“Very poor - expensive but lacking taste and substance.”
Ordered 3 or 4 dishes and none of them had any flavour, very disappointing, not least because of the cost. It was very quiet when we visited, maybe we caught them on a bad night.

“If breakfast is included, then try authentic Japanese instead of a buffet for a change”
We were tired of eating buffet breakfast at the hotel so decided to try morning Japanese set. If breakfast is included with the room price, you can go to the basement Japanese restaurant as well. We enjoyed it. It is much quieter but Japanese breakfast is an acquired taste so be ready for adventu...re. Stick to buffet on the first floor if you are not.

“wonderful more than excellent ”
Astonished !! Everything is perfect Location : very near to Kyoto station , few minutes of walking distance ,and there is a shuttle bus owned by rihga hotel from Kyoto station to the hotel every15 minutes. The is SUPERB !!! no other words to describe it Espcially I want to note a front des...k woman bestAoiama This girl is the best servicwoman that I ever met in my life ( I am 63 old ,and I 'm traveling 6 times a year all over the world ) so generous,,polite,effective ,wise , Outstandingempatic No doubt she disurb to be the outdtaning serviceman around the world without any exegration Aoiama make us happy she can be example to every serviceman . “Good food close to home at our hotel”
Tasty food, pastries and light dishes right inside our hotel. Soups are good and made it easy when we were too tired to go out.
