“Friendly restaurant with excellent food”
We have reserved a table for 2 online which was very convenient for us (not speaking Japanese). The staff is extremely welcoming and nice and we communicated successfully with google translate. The menu was available also in English. We chose the chef menu with 7 courses, which was excellent and pre...pared in real time in front of our eyes :) (we were sitting at the counter). The overall atmosphere of the place is familiar and very pleasant. This was one of the best dinners we had in Kyoto! Fully recommended.

“Great Japanese cuisine off the beaten path in Kyoto”
Stopped in without a reservation and was lucky to score a seat for a solo dinner. The other seats were all filled by 6:00 p.m. I had a set dinner with 6 courses, each one delicious. I had sashimi and grilled fish courses, but they also offer Wagyu beef as options in larger course dinners. A cozy... environment and an enjoyable dinner.

“Absolutely delightful!”
We were here for an intimate Christmas celebration as a small group of tourists. We were seated at the counter and it was a treat watching the chef cook. One of us speak a bit of Japanese and the chef explained each dish to us. The restauranteur was also there and he was just as friendly. Both of th...em are great hosts! We're particularly impressed by the deep fried taro wedge served in beef broth. Taro is a rather ordinary ingredient in Asian cooking but in the hands of the chef it has turned into such a flavourful delicacy. We exclaimed how good it is and the chef served us extra taro wedges in a Kyoto shokunin manner - like a true artisan proud of his craft. Perks of sitting at the counter! One of us had specific dietary restrictions. We informed the restaurant at booking and they made special arrangements for that guest. Amazing Kaiseki cuisine. Excellent service. 5 stars, no, 6!

“Absolutely Delicious Kaiseki”
I had chosen this venue for our anniversary dinner thanks to previous trip advisor comments and it definitely lived up to expectations. The chef was an amazing host and tried his best to explain the different dishes, despite the language barrier. The dishes themselves were delicious and the quality ...of the ingredients could be felt. We ordered the "Matsu" deluxe set and each course hit the mark, with wonderful flavours and presentations. Definitely worth going for a special experience.

“Worth finding!”
Fabulous Kaiseki. Go at lunch, when it’s cheaper, and sit at the counter. Nosh on 5-6 appetizers lined up in bowls just for you. Grilled eel is wonderful, as is Kytoto sukiayaki steak. Friendly service. Great hot sake.
