“Osaka’s European Charm”
A Canto completely charmed me. Their tasting course featured the best of Europe. We started with the tiniest of foie gras tarts, and graduated to pasta courses with white truffle and a satisfying lamb chop. Inventive wine pairings transported me to places like Guy Savoy in Paris. The staff could... not be friendlier or more attentive. Each time they arrived they thanked us for waiting - even though we had not waited for anything at all! When we told them about my husband’s allergy to smoked foods they were inventive and accommodating. When I also volunteered I had an aversion to tripe they conjured a replacement dish that was just so, so satisfying. We got to choose our own ice creams to accompany our dessert. I selected mango, chocolate, and pistachio and had to fight myself from asking asking for seconds!

“An unforgettable experience!”
A fantastic experience, this was our favourite meal of our whole Japanese holiday! We were two of four customers for the whole night, with one waitress and the chef/owner managing the evening. They made a lot of effort to communicate with us in English where we couldn’t understand elements of the m...enu and where we had allergies, alongside impeccable attentiveness. Standout dishes for us were the saltimbocca and sardines, strawberries and tomato marinade (who knew they paired well!). There are not many reviews for A Canto I think because there are so few seats, but it is definitely worth visiting if you are in Osaka!
