“Best vego burger we have had”
My sister and I are vegos and we love food. Japan can be tricky at times eating as a vegetarian (and fish sauce near impossible to avoid). Anyway found this place serving as a pop up stall (temporary shipping containers restaurants placed near Kyoto station for Summer only). The place goes by the na...me of 58Doorstep Burger here instead of 58Diner which is its permanent name (we asked the owner). It was so pleasant to find a burger place in Japan that was actually serving a homemade vegetarian burger pattie - he advised it was made of soy. It was fantastic - read the other veggie burger review on here - we absolutely agree that it was sweet, soft and with a hint of curry BUT thats why we loved it. It was like a veggie whopper on steroids (hungry jacks/burger king reference). It was bloody delicious and one, if not the best vego burger we have ever had. Maybe it was the balmy summer night, or the tiny cups of sake, or post Sento giddiness but we throughly enjoyed our experience and hope that you do too!!!

“Expensive and very long ”
We ordered a burger and a ceasar salad. After a long time (40mn) before being served, the ceasar salad arrived with no chicken (only salad and dressing) for a very expensive price in kyoto. The service was verybad, we had to ask for everything (to order, water, bill). Our worst experience in japan ...so far.

“He liked his burger but the veggie burger was not good...”
Of course, I realize that you can't expect too much as a vegetarian at a burger joint. But the veggie burger was actually a bit yucky - it was sweet and squishy with a hint of curry. The fries, however, were really excellent, the place was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. And the "real" burg...er was reported to be quite good (although messy).

“Great burger”
Had the bacon burger set with a Jack Daniels and Coke Zero. Cost less then $20aud and was fantastic. Cute little diner with great service. Will be recommending to friends!

“I really dug this little place”
For me this was an awesome find in Kyoto. The place, while small was truly charming, and beyond that the food was delicious. They make a great burger served on a crisp toasty bun (that they bake fresh daily) and the flavor was exactly what I was looking for. It's not five star dining but what they d...o, they do well. Would recommend for anyone craving a burger.
