Writing my first TripAdvisor review (usually just stick to Yelp because I don’t want to start my profile over) but I really loved my experience here and want the owner to succeed. We randomly stumbled upon this restaurant. Really just came in to have some drinks before dinner but decided to try a ...few items while we hung out. -Started with the mixed nuts (which I know, they're just nuts...) but they were really good nuts -Had the chorizo next and was surprised at the spice kick it had. Definitely recommend -Because everything started off so well, we decided to try the original beef and the short ribs based off the chef's recommendations. Both spectacular! This was one of the best restaurants we've been to in japan (based on our small sample of items). There were more dishes that looked/sounded intriguing but we had dinner reservations a few blocks away already and we're set to leave Kyoto the next day. Maybe next time we’re in Japan! Japanese whiskey was pretty good too; tried 4 different kinds
