“Great for budget conscious sushi”
We asked around about sushi places to eat and were basically told that Kyoto isn’t the best place to eat sushi as it’s far from the water. We decided to try an inexpensive place then since none of us have had conveyor belt sushi before in Japan. We only waited a few minutes for a seat right around 6... pm on a weekend night. The conveyor belt didn’t have a lot on there, especially when it got busy but we were able to order everything we wanted with the touch screen ordering system. Surprisingly the fish was quite good, especially the Toro and salmon. I also loved the flounder fin seared. We had 30+ plates plus soups which came out to $75. There’s no way it would be this cheap at home. If you’re looking for “fancy” sushi, this isn’t the place, but if you’re on a budget it’s a great place to eat.

“Oishi Sushi”
A great selection of sushi on the conveyor. It was fresh and the service was excellent and very friendly.

“cheap, cheerful and full of 'locals'”
Kyoto Tower Sando is a great below ground-level 'food hall' with numerous profferings and clearly a place to come for many on their way home from work - which is always a great sign. Wasn't disappointed and we went back several times so I could get my fix of sushi with him choosing another restauran...t but there is plenty of spaces where you can sit and eat together
