Shieikushakku Umedahanshin

Shake Shack is walking distance from our hotel and of course it was a nice break from all the Japanese food we had in the past few days. Of course we got the classics and it didn’t disappoint. We especially love the alfresco area since it was spring.

We ate at this eatery twice. Once was because we were too early for check in and found this eatery nearby to rest and have a bite. And the second time was for dinner when we could not find anything else open late. So we had cheesy fries and drinks the first time and burgers and nuggets set meals... the second. Both times, we found the food were made well. Well presented and fresher than other fast food chains. They have special drinks like half and half lemon tea which was one of my favourites.

We always try fast foods we don’t have at home, and it was Shake Shack’s turn this time round. Shake Shack has beef, chicken and vegetable (mushroom) burgers. You order a burger, fries and a drink separately and they are a little more expensive than the usual fast foods. We had cheese burgers, che...ese fries and a fifty/fifty drink and our bill was ¥2728. I wouldn’t recommend the cheese fries as it’s warm processed cheese spread and has a weird taste. As for the burgers, it’s normal and nothing special that warrants the cost in my opinion. I’d be happy choosing a good old Burger King over them. Not on my recommendation list unfortunately.

I ordered the burger with portabello mushrooms, it was very good! The french fries with cheese was also very good. Service was also good and clean restaurant just next to Daimaru.
