“Good ambiance but food was so-so”
Went to this place en-route to Kyoto Railway Museum. Actually we bought some bento at Kyoto Station and intended to eat in the Umekoji Park, but as it got quite cold and looks to be on the verge of raining, we went inside and ordered some food. We ordered a vegetable pizza, vegetable curry rice, and... french fries. The food was so-so, nothing particularly memorable. The place was clean and was quite child-friendly.

“Beware of Western Choices”
Umekoji Park and Playground is great for toddlers to older kids. The Cafe is the only option in viewing distance of playground, but only if you are being attentive to the kids you are trying to watch. We were without snacks so we ordered a pizza with corn and french fries. Was edible but nothing we ...would want again. Cannot say how good the Japanese cuisine choices are so hence I'm giving the Cafe an average rating and recommend you stay away from Western choices.
