“Soba Obsession at Ruchin”
Ruchin in Shinsaibashi is definitely a hole in the wall you should check out. The soba is top notch and the sake list is always on point. Great place to grab a drink while traveling. The atmosphere is very cozy.

“Authentic soba noodle & Japanese food”
Relaxed, great Japanese food, traditional authentic soba noodle. Quick and excellent service. Staff is very nice. Good drinks and local sake selection as well. I recommend getting a soba roll, and fresh sashimi.

“Stumbled into this gem”
We kind of stumbled into this restaurant by accident. It's located in the basement at the Shinsaibashi area. Environment: Cozy, dark and quiet. It's a place for you to relax and chat after work while you knock back some soba and have some drinks either by yourself at the bar or in some of their pri...vate rooms which can cater up to 5/6 people. Food: Food are delicious and simple soba fares. We ordered 3 dishes individually and enjoyed it thoroughly. Dish 1 was Hot Soba with Herring. The soup is rich and sweet, and the Herring is either sweet pickled or preserved. Dish 2 was Hot Soba with Smoked Duck. Yummy and smoky. Lastly was cold soba with pickled Plum. The pickled plum gave it a totally new different twist in term of flavor and fragrance. Service: Staffs are very very helpful and attentive. Realizing we're not local, they brought us the English menu and did their best to explain the dishes with broken English. He also did his best to answer our queries on the dishes. Price: For the quality, the price is reasonable. Portion is a little small though. We were however more than content with the service given.
