Katsura

I’m staying at the Marriott and was looking for sushi lunch and walk back to hotel. It was nearby but the reviews were less than stellar. Either they completely renovated the entire place or there is a mixup in the reviews below. There isn’t a conveyor belt, it was local but in a good way, and the s...taff was beyond friendly and accommodating to this non-Japanese speaking American. It’s not cheap but neither is it expensive. Filling lunch for ¥1500 seems pretty fair to me. Plus Asahi was cheap and sake was very reasonable. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area of Nagoya Station. BTW it’s on 13F - some of the signage puts it on 12F.

I came with my bf and we ordered a 松 sushi set which is for 2-3 ppl however he served us the 櫻 sushi set (4-5 ppl) and I knew that was wrong order when I checked the bill and finished all (actually is toooo much for two ppl indeed). I said it is impossible for us to order a set for 4-5 ppl, the wait...er said he thought he would like to order the one with picture in the menu. I dun think we are the tourists so he treated us like fools but instead he should explain and clarify for us!!!

Locals place, conveyor belt brings out ready made sushi items. You can special order items off the menu. They have some dessert items. Don't go if you don't like seafood, not many other choices. 5 people are for $80 USD, they don't accept credit cards. Gets really busy after 6:00 pm.
