Sushizammai Nagoyanishiki

I ate here with a colleague and we sat at the 'bar' opposite the chefs where there is an excelent view of the feverish activity going on in the preparation area. There was this amazing ceremony when a new fish was prepared where the chef essentially shouts out to the restaurant how great this fish i...s and essentially sells it to the diners. It was a complete theatrical experience and very enjoyable. I loved the fact that you shout out 'thank you for the food' to the whole restaurant as you leave!

We've eaten a lot of sushi during our six month stay in Japan and Zanmai was our favorite. Beautiful presentation and top quality taste. Loved everything we had from lightly broiled o-toro to salmon nigiri and fried calamari. Spot prawn nigiri is divine! Excellent service. Rowdy greeting upon walkin...g thru the doors. Open till 5am! Pure awesome.

I visited Sushizanmai first in Tokio in Tsukiji Fish Market and was amazing, had to wait 30 min in quie to get seat, but its great quality and value for money, then I discovered there is a Nagoya branch as well,sushi was delicious.
