We accidentally got here. It's a fresh fish place. The place is full of locals and there is no english menu, but we ordered things we saw around - mostly sashimi-like stuff. It was really good and very affordable.

We stayed in Nagano for three nights. On our first night we spotted this great Izakaya, not far from the Train Station. It was pretty packed (with locals) and people seemed to have good fun here! So we went in. And that was a great decision. There's the counter/bar to sit, a good number of regular ...tables and a bunch of sit-on-the-floor tables (which we chose). The service didn't really speak english, but there's an english menu available. Not all the items are on it...some daily specials are only displayed in japanese. Just point to the neighbours table/plate if you see something you like....worked for us! Service has been very friendly and helpful. The food has quite a big range. From Sashimi to fried meat and even Hot Pots (daily special). A good list of alcohol is available too....shots, beer, cocktails. We liked it some much that we came back the other night. Some of the food we had (check also the pics): Sashimi - great, highly recommended! Fried cheese rolls - good Veggie tempura - very good (especially the pumpkin) Mushroom tempura - great Small grilled fish - very good Ground meat Tonkatsu - good (like a fried burger) Fried Tofu - very good Tuna cheek - a bit strong Wings - nice, hot and crispy Salmon sushi roll - very good The food list is almost endless.
