Cressonniere

My wife and I like to try different restaurants so we thought we would give Cressonniere a go. Firstly - the food is very good. Secondly the décor is rough and a little dirty - let's say..untidy, well worn, suitably Parisian bistro like - acceptable anyway... Thirdly the service is very good if no...t very warm. I think our waiter hasn't smiled in years but we was very efficient. Lastly we found the prices to be high. We had one of the set menu's which consisted of a small plate of starter bites / a delicious onion soup and a pastry wrapped lamb (me) / fish (my wife) dish (with no sides). We discovered bread was extra / there was no dessert included and we didn't have anything to drink except water (which was free) It being Valentine we treated ourselves to a dessert and coffee. The grand total was around ¥13,000 which is approximately $110.00. To many people that may seem reasonable but by Tokyo's standards that's quite expensive. If we'd a glass of wine or two it would have been closer to $150.00. That's a lot in Tokyo especially as it's a bistro and not a 5 star restaurant as such. Generally the food was excellent though the lamp in my pastry wrap was stringy) and the service efficient. Would I go again? Probably not at those prices.

Good food at good price. Loved the warm atmosphere inside the restaurant as well. One of my favorite restaurants in Tokyo!
