Taiko Sushi

In Kanazawa you can find good fish in many places but Taiko is simply special. The sushi is really amazing, the fish is so fresh (my favourite were the 'normal tuna' and the otoro/fatty tuna), the place make you feel home from the first moment. The family who runs the place is welcoming beyond compa...re, the wife is the soul of the place and her smile is irresistible. It is different from any other sushi place I tried, I will definitely come back. You cannot come to Kanazawa and miss this place.

This sushi place is exactly what I was expecting while visiting Japan. Small (only two Japanese tables and the bar for seven people)and having the owner as the chef and host. Top quality sushi, fresh, and super tasty. Yuji Takano, the owner, and his wife are the hosts. They both treated us extremely... well, they were both friendly, hospitable and helpful in helping us order. Can’t say enough about this small sushi place. It’s so small that a reservation is necessary.

We were looking for a good sushi and it couldn't have happened in a nicer place. Chef and wife were very kind with us and we exchange some words in english too. We ordered sashimi, nighiri mix and futomaki.The last one not present in the list that the host gave us but we find some picture from other... reviews on the web and still asked without problems. Price is good for the quality of the fish. Relaxed but informal place don't expect to find a fashion restaurant. We appreciated the atmosphere during the dinner. Lovely choice in a rainy evening.
