“Did Not Live Up to the Hype”

I found out about black yakisoba (squid ink) from Japanese travel guides on Niigata prefecture. This restaurant came highly recommended for this dish. However, I was disappointed, because, visuals aside, the dish didn't taste that much different from a generic yakisoba at a random matsuri stand. "Av...erage" is the right word. I'm glad I tried it but won't come back again.
