“Fantastic food - a great evening ”

We were lucky to get the last two places in this small restaurant - it has one table and a counter so best to reserve if you want to get in. We had an outstanding evening. The traditional Japanese menu consisted of whatever the young chef had decided we were getting and the quality was well above ...the usual local dishes. No gimmicks just great food and honest charming hospitality. Oyster with a lemon sesame sauce was memorable as was sea bream with figs and chestnut - but to be honest everything was really good. Watching it being prepared with the fine attention to detail that made for subtle flavour was all part of the charm of the evening. Go if you can get in!

“The best dinner of our trip in Japan”

We found this restaurant by chance and at the end we can say it was the best dinner of our 2 weeks trip in Japan. We chosen a fixed menu (5.000 yen) with 10 dishers and we appreciated everything. The serving was rich and the value for money is very good. We also drunk an excellent sake. The chef was... very friendly and he tried to explain us every dish.

“A truly delicious 10-course seafood meal”

We were looking for a restaurant highly rated by Trip Advisor, 5-10 minutes from Kanazawa Station, but it was closed, and instead we stumbled upon this place which accepted us without a reservation as there were four seats left. The chef was young, and assisted by his wife. Don't let age deceive you...: he cooks yummy food. We wanted to try the famous Kanazawa snow crab, but the chef told us he had very little of it. The different fish dishes were very beautifully presented, and the tastes matched. Although little English was used, the chef tried to explain what each of the dishes were. I think it was worth the ¥7,000 each of us paid. We felt we had experienced Kanazawa with this meal.

This was one of the best meals I have had in Japan. Sitting at the bar watching the chef prepare the food over a two hour period was a great time. Was not your standard fare and all was prepared in an excellent fashion. A very reasonable price 5,000 yen
