The layout of the buffet was very good and there was a variety of things to eat. Also, it was stocked very well. But the staff was reluctant to speak in English. We were not given information, but the table next to us was informed of the timetable. We were not given water, but the table next to us ...was. The quality of food was good, so if you don’t mind being ignored I would recommend it.

The Restaurant Serenity is part of the Metropolitan Hotel Sendai that is next to JR Sendai station. I have visited the Restaurant the first time in 2008 by accident. Now (in 2018) I was visiting Sendai again for cherry blossom. This time I stayed at the Metropolitan and I revisited the Serenity. It... ls always critical to revisit a restaurant after a long time: Will it be the same experience again? The short answer is: Yes. The design of the restaurant is still the same. Dark brown wood is dominating the design; combined with a white ceiling. It is a relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen is open, you can see the chef in action. The menu I ordered was basically western style. But every course had a little japanese twist to it. The service was very good, like always in good restaurants in Japan. Like I said in the title, the visit of the Serenity completed this nice day (blue sky, sun, cherry blossom) of my vacation in Japan. I am looking forward to another revisted (in 2028?).

Confortable restaurant with very varied buffet - Japanese and international - very polite service. Very busy restaurant.

many choices from salad, fruit, ham... western style AND rice, porridge, japanese pickle and egg...japanese style. many choices of drinks too. they even have a paper cup for you to bring coffee or tea back to room.

The variety of Breakfast line make me enjoy myself before I go out for my sightseeing . Next time I will try lunch and dinner here !
