The beef tongue meal set originated in Sendai city, Miyagi prefecture after World War II.
The char-grilled beef tongue, commercialized after much trial-and-error, by testing the thickness of the slices, amount of the salt, and the maturity of the ingredients, was so deeply loved by locals that it became a specialty cuisine of Sendai, Miyagi and renowned throughout Japan.
As soon as you step into the city of Sendai, you'll see streets lined with various restaurants serving beef tongue.
Each restaurant is particular about the thickness of beef tongue slices, amount of the salt, and the maturity condition of the meat. Please come savor the deliciousness that depends on the exquisite grilling skill of the artisan chef.
