“Tasty meat and fun to grill yourself.”
By far the best meal we had in Yamagata. It is on the 2nd floor of the building that has the Zao bus ticket office, not the main JR building. A popular place with the locals, it was a 1 hour wait at 7PM but you can sign up and come back later. Well worth the wait and at a reasonable price. We had on...e of the set dinners and were very satisfied when we left, one more slice of steak would have been better.

“Hidden gem!”
Totally unexpected to find this amazing restaurant in the Station. We had to queue for 30 minutes but it was worth it! Amazing steaks!!

“Good yonezawa beef restaurant at yamagata train station!”
Very friendly staff. Reasonable price for yonezawa beef bbq dinning yet easily accessible, located at 2nd floor of yamagata train station. Hidden gem!

“Gluten free options”
Used my translation card to arrange a lovely gluten free meal. Food was delicious, great quality meat, service was lacking but chef helpful with gluten free options, meal was very filling. Recommended for a coeliac!
