“Cheesy oysters to die for”
Amazing oysters and fun ambiance. Good selection of Japanese whiskeys. Had both baked and gratins versions. I personally would recommend the cheesy ones.

“A pearl of Miyajima. Didn’t have to shell out either.”
I read about this place in Lonely Planet as specialising in the plump Oyster grown off shore in the sheltered bays. I’ve not had oysters as an adult. I’m two thirds through my life. I called in. It’s busy. It’s not fine dining. It’s about volume. But that’s fine. It’s in a tourist trap. I orde...red three oyster grilled in the shell. Simple as that. No embellishment. I paired up my stunners with a half bottle of Chablis. The oysters were so fresh it was like I was a Merman scooping them up fresh. They tasted of the sea but also of within themselves. Subtle. Light. Sweet and ever so slightly salty. A true delight. The wine was lovely. I can’t give it a five as my waitress was impatient and short changed me on a glass of water - in this case the adage of my glass being half empty rather than half full rang true. But this is lovely spot to eat a couple of oyster big boys / girls / them.

“Great lunch with good wine pairing”
Really nice food and good service. We had a good Chablis to our oysters and it was served chilled as expected - good. We had the oyster lunch menue with a good variety of oysters. To that, we added fresh oysters which we found as the best. Very bid and tasty.

“Oyster feast”
This is one among many seafood restaurants at Miyajima's touristy Omotesando. Kakiya is one of the more refined options with local oyster as the highlight. The deluxe set is a perfect sampler to taste fresh oysters cooked in local ways. Grilled oyster, cooked in its jus, is simply unbeatable. Servic...e is welcoming and price very reasonable.

“Awesome oysters”
The oysters here were fantastic... cannot go wrong with any of their variations. Personal favourite was the baked oysters. Also recommend getting the lemon beer to go with it! This place was definitely one of the food highlights of our Hiroshima / Miyajima trip.
