Takotsubo

A lovely traditional Japanese kaiseki restaurant in the heart of Hiroshima. We felt immediately welcome by the friendly staff. The chef is not only good at preparing the meal, he is also happy to explain the dishes in English which was much appreciated. Our meal focused on Hiroshima seafood and othe...r local products which was top quality. I highly recommends Takutsubo if you want a taste of traditional Japan.

We stumbled to restaurant by luck... just walking by. It is a wonderful place, the stuff was very friendly. It is well worth the place in Michelin guide book.

Visited Takotsubo as a birthday surprise whilst in Hiroshima. The food was lovely but unfortunately the environment was very unwelcoming and it actually felt like we were being laughed at and excluded from the whole experience. Takotsubo is very intimate restaurant and it was great to see the art of... everything being prepared in front of us but given the bad atmosphere and way we were made to feel I would highly recommend visiting Sushitei Hikarimachi instead which has great sushi for a fraction of the price of and where you are made to feel truly welcome.

The Sheraton Hotel were able to organise a last minute booking for us Takotsubo. A family owned restaurant who take pride in the preparation and presentation of their delightful food. We had a set 12 course meal and through another diner were able to interact with the owners which added to this uniq...ue experience.

One of my friend in Hiroshima recommended me this small, but cozy and great restaurant. In Hiroshima, there are many shops that serve seafood caught in Seto-Inland-Sea, which lies between Hiroshima and Shikoku. Every dish was like an art, so beautiful and had a delicate sense of taste. I never had ...this kind of artisan dish before. When you visit Hiroshima, you must visit this shop. The price is very high, but the quality guarantee you to satisfy.
