“Better than Benihana”
Sit at the bar and be enthralled with watching yours and everyone else’s dinner being prepared. Quite entertaining. Similar to the American Benihana style restaurants, Okonomiyaki style is unique in of itself. Here in Hiroshima they layer the ingredients. Osaka okonomiyaki is mixed together.

“Awesome comfort food”
I have come to realize that Okonomiyaki is the perfect comfort food. It's delicious, filling, and fun and Okonomiyaki Shintenchi Micchan has all of the Okonomiyaki you could ever want with floors of various Okonomiyaki stalls. Watching them cook the Okonomiyaki right in front of you is such a blast ...as you watch them add more and more and more layers. I couldn't even finish it all. They give you a great deal of food for a really reasonable price. This is a must-eat in Hiroshima.

“Chill out trip”
This restaurant was highly recommended on social media. It was a 12 minutes walk from our hotel. Weather was nice. Located in a side street building, the property can seat upto at least 30 paxs we think. We arrived early around 11.45am as advised to avoid lunch crowd. We ordered the okonomiyaki... topped with oysters and it was delicious. One impression is that all restaurant provide drinking water freely and FOC. This is either served or self dispense from machine. Wonderful culture to promote healthy lifestyle. In Singapore, a glass of water cost at least $0.40 cents. When we returned we read that there is now a committee that call for water fountain to be readily available publicly to encourage people to drink more water to promote a healthy lifestyle. About time, no doubt we are always behind such initiative. I think as a Nation, we over analyse and over think and consider - too many scholars lah!

“Tasty and fun to watch them cooking your meal on the bar grill”
This was a great lunch stop not too far from the Peace Memorial Park. It was a great place to see Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki being prepares, and it was delicious. They have an English menu and explanation that make ordering easier and they were willing to accommodate our different eating preference...s and needs.

“Excellent food + great English menu”
Tried both styles of okonomiyaki across various restaurants; this one came out on top. Had the deluxe and one with cheese and kim chi, and both were great and well priced at 1,000-1,100 yen. The excellent English menu also allows you to order any type of topping you'd like (instead of standard opt...ions) and the menu includes a communication guide (key sentences in both languages) enabling you to communicate even should a member of staff not speak any English at all (not the case here). Got there at 19h and there was a serious line outside already (c. 15 pax, which took about 25 minutes), so be early or prepare to queue for a bit. Highly recommended.
