羅豚 ギンザ・グラッセ

Their Kurobuta pork shabu shabu with the Japanese leek soup base was succulently delicious. The crew also attentively scoped up every drop of floating pork oil in the hot pot before cooking soba noodle to the optimal degree for us. The lunch set came with all you-can-eat vegetable, appetizers, drink... and desert. Apart from the good food, we enjoy the window city view of Ginza at 10-storey level. We will definitely come back again in our next trip to Tokyo.

Everything about pork is right here in this restaurant. The shabu shabu with pork was really flavorful with a good depth of taste. Seafood sashima was fresh & sweet. With a pretty good choice of red & white wines to choose from, one could really enjoy dinner here thoroughly. Highly recommended.

While most people will look for wagyu beef in Tokyo, I prefer to look for pork and I found out about this Rabu restaurant specialising in kurobuta, a prized pork meat in Japan. They have 2 outlets in Ginza area but we went to the Glasse outlet, which was the right decision as this atmospheric restau...rant is located on the 10th floor overlooking Ginza area at night. We came without any reservation (but we were quite early around 6pm where the dinner crowds had not come in yet) and were seated at the table next to the glass window area (pretty romantic to me). Reservation is highly recommended if you are planning to come after 7pm - as we were told that our table had to be vacated by 7.30pm. Do take note that they have Chinese speaking staff to attend to you if you prefer. We ordered the kurobuta set and it was heavenly - the prized pork meat was incredibly juicem aromatic and savoury. Contrary to the practice in Malaysia, they will serve you plain water as base soup and added Japanese leek in it. This gives the soup a clear and slightly sweet taste and it just got sweeter as you dipped the meat into the boiling water. The default dipping sauce (FOC) is the soba sauce with 3 other options available with extra charges (yes).. I went for the ponzu sauce which I think was very good! Apart from that we also ordered grilled kurobuta pork belly (or was it shoulder?) simply with salt & pepper and boy the meat literally melt-in-the-mouth! We ended the night with a delightful dessert of creme brulee upon the recommendation of our Chinese waitress... I thought that it was one of the better creme brulee I'd tasted to far. Price-wise it's not cheap - as a matter of fact, nothing is cheap in Tokyo but for the price I'm paying and the quality of the food + the glittering night view of Ginza, I'd say it's worth it. I will not hesitate to come back here again if I ever travel to Tokyo.
