Got a coupon for a cup of udon noodle with tempura. Why not give it a try? Nice one. You can select a dish seeing photos of them. They serve for you quickly. I just had a cup of udon, but it tastes good. I can be sure that other dishes are also fine. A kind of inexpensive entertainment for ordin...ary people. Enjoy

I have been to Kitakyushu a few times now and this was the first time I knew about this restaurant. I'm really really happy I found it as I think there are very good options at Sukesaburo (Sukesan). It is also 24 hours!!! The restaurant is a few blocks from the train station on the south side. I...t is down an alley on the right so keep an eye out for it. As many of the pictures shown on Tripadvisor, it is quite distinctive and should not be hard to find. It is a casual restaurant and not that expensive. I'm not sure why it is stated as $$ - $$$ on Tripadvisor. There are 500 yen options and I saw many seniors eating there. Many of them come for a simple udon and tempura lunch but the menu is very extensive. When you get to the restaurant, you are directed to a seat. They have both table and bench table option. Since I was solo, I was placed at the bench table. There was only a Japanese menu at the table but it had a lot of pictures and I didn't bother asking for an English menu. The waitress came by quickly and I was able to point to the curry Udon for my order. I then asked about oden and she pointed me to a different counter. The oden counter was wonderful (see picture). It had a lot of variety and all of them looked delicious. I ended up picking 3 items. The curry udon was good but nothing spectacular. I really enjoyed the oden items. It wasn't too salty and had a good amount of sweetness. Certainly a step (or two) above the options at the 7-elevens! While I wouldn't say that the food at Sukesan was the best I have had. I think that it provides an excellent combination of price and selection. The staff was friendly but not English speaking. However, it isn't a problem if you point at what you want. I would definitely recommend Sukesan for lunch or dinner if you are in Kitakyushu.

This restaurant is famous in Kyusyu area and there are many chain shops. They serve mainly Udon, Japanese noodle. Also we can have Soba (noodle), Oden and some kinds of Donmono (Katsudon, Gyudon, Toritenndon). I recommend a set with Donmono and half noodle, because you can enjoy both rice and noodle.... The price is reasonable and the tast is good. Some shops open 24h. I think not only Japanese but also foreigners will enjoy the Japanese food for lunch or dinner.

Love this place's atmosphere. Very fast service. Get the NabeYaki Udon. It comes with shrimp tempura. Incredibly delicious. Beef curry is also a favorite.
