ラ・タベルナ

La Taverna was an unforgettable experience during our time in Tokyo. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the Doria (hot rice dish), which was rich, comforting, and exactly the kind of meal you remember long after the trip ends. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, giving it a very authen...tic and nostalgic atmosphere. What made the visit especially meaningful was getting to experience it with our father, who used to frequent La Taverna during his college days at Sophia University. Being able to return there together years later added a really special element to the evening and made the experience feel even more memorable. Great food, warm atmosphere, and a true Tokyo classic that we’re very glad we visited.

This is a difficult place to find if your not local, the address is correct but it's upstairs and rather small place. Atmosphere : it's SMALL, very small tables and chairs, although they accommodate our party of 6. It's nothing fancy so casual is fine, unfortunately like many restaurants smoking is... OK , so you might have some business men drinking and chain smoking very close to you. Service: Our waiter was a Turkey native who moved to Tokyo. He was very very helpful and full of suggestions. Food was services quickly and in a nice fashion. Food: this is where this place really shines! What great Italian food in Japan! Being a New York native I was very surprised! The tomato sauce was very nice, and the seafood soup was excellent. All our dishes were very good, varied menu with many unusual choices as well as many staples. Overall: not too expensive , local good Italian in Chiyoda!! Worth a visit for good food and great service!
