“Akami More Delicious Than Toro”
Tsukiji Tamasushi is a sushi chain famous for its marinated tuna known as “hiden no zuke maguro” (tuna marinated with secret recipe). While most of the shops inside Takashimaya close at 7:30pm, restaurants also close at around 9pm. The sushi house is clean. Servers might not be rude, but they are... not the most welcoming bunch. Sushi quality is so-so. Highly recommend the signature marinated tuna “hiden no zuke maguro”(JPY 1,480), which is rightfully described as “akami that is more delicious than toro”!

“Best sushi chain in Tokyo”
The quality of the fish is amazing and the taste won't disappoint you. My personal recommendation is the Shichifuku set, which comes in a beautiful flower shaped plate - a pleasure for the eyes and the soul.

“Reasonably good”
Reasonably priced sushi and sashimi, despite an English menu not a tourist trap and frequented by locals as well. Food was okay but not spectacular. Lots of variety so something to fit all tastes and budgets, and very good service. Went there for a late dinner: it was still open, so that was a plus... (although perhaps the freshest stuff was long gone?)

“Very good sushi”
We took our son and his partner to Tamasushi as a treat for their last night in Japan. We chose a couple of sushi sets, some ootoro sushi, plus some maki, wine and calamari. The sushi was very good. Made fresh as you would expect, very good cuts of fish etc. The calamari was a bit disappointing. ...The italian pecorino wine was a good match and reasonably priced.

“Disappointed the Buffet offer gone”
It is a famous and long history sushi resturant in Japan with more than 25 branches across Japan. We are interested in taking their buffet menu and known that only a few branches have such offer. Shinjuku Takashimaya branch should be one of the four has such offer. Unfortunately, when we managed ...to find the resturant in a rainy day, it was just discovered that the buffet offer has been stopped so we were forced to order two sets from the menu. The taste of sushi was ok but not up to our expectation. Anyway, will try their buffet in other branches if we have chance when we visit Japan next time.
