I tried this restaurant as I had just been to their main restaurant in Taipei, where I was unable to truly enjoy their dishes because of their hectic pace. It was a week day and the waiting time was only ten minutes. It was clear that they had adopted the system of their main restaurant in Taipei. T...hey had their screen showing the waiting time and the staff were most efficient in clearing and reorganizing the tables. I ordered their tan tan men with four xiao long baos and my wife ordered six and some red bean dumplings. The pace was better than Taipei which allowed me to enjoy the dumplings better. It took quite a while for my wife's red bean buns to be served even accepting that we asked them to be served after our main dishes. Their prices are slightly above average. The experience was better than Taipei, but I still hesitate to give them a high rating from the viewpoint of service and value for money.

Having defined Din Tai Fung (Shinkong Mitsukoshi) in Tapei as "a marvellous travel in a F A N T A S T I C new world", it's quite clear that it's really difficult for any restaurant to be at the same (or similar) level. Having made this premise, I would say that Din Tai Fung in Funabashi (Shapo comme...rcial center) offers good food, even far from the absolute excellent of the same restaurant in Taipei. Food is a little overpriced. Generally speaking,that's a pity, because more than looking at it as a good restaurant, I look at it as at a lost opportunity.
