This place is a ripoff and almost a scam. The service was also rude and the worst I come across in Japan. I have travelled to Japan alot. Firstly, when we made the reservation via their main website, it clearly said the course that we purchased included Crab. There was no crab served and when I poin...ted it out to the female server, she simply told me that the description is not accurate, and that they have to change it. She then asked if that was ok. ???? What else can we say? Can we say that it is not ok? Please see picture attached. The uni they gave was also very tiny and small, not worth the price. Only now did I realize that the website reservation also said it was 11,000yen tax included. However, we were charged in excess of 22000yen, the total bill is 24200yen. I attach my bill as proof of this. Such a ripoff and scam! I see someone already feedbacked below, but clearly they do not care and they did not change the description and continue to operate like a scam. When we told them that we did not wish to have any beverages - the server returned an entirely shocked look which is totally unbefitting of Japanese culture. Everywhere we go in Japan they serve plain water or ocha and they do it automatically, it is not untoward to not order any drinks in a restaurant, however they made us feel very uncomfortable for doing that. at the end of the meal, as they provide a cup of hot tea to go with the last course which is the kakiage, we kindly asked for just one refill only, we only asked one time, and the female server was so rude and told us that there is no more time already. Never have I experienced such bad service in a restaurant in Japan, that had not only ripped us off of the crab course but also would not even refill one time Ocha. We revisited Tempura Kondo before this day (2 michelin stars) and that establishment was a wonder. They refilled our tea without question and never chased us to leave. Shame on Onodera, I would not set foot into any Onodera chain store ever again be it sushi, tempura, or whatever. You are shameful as a big chain but now I see that big chains like yours are just ripoffs. We will only go to smaller, more sincere establishments who operate with heart. The meal was not worth the price paid, pls go to other tempura establishments, once you compare you will know. For my kakiage mixed with rice, they only gave me baby little shrimp, can hardly even spot the shrimp in the rice, so sad. If I go back I would surely scold them.

Recommended by the hotel concierge we made a booking to this establishment in the Ginza area. It’s a small place mainly a tempura table for 10 and a private room on the 4 floor. The menu is a set including sashimi and appetisers. Abalone, clams and blow fish are extras. We added an abalone tempura t...o share. The meal was quite filling to the end and the ingredients were fresh. The meal setting was quite elaborate in presentation and service. This was perhaps the higher prices we paid for the meal. The prawn was succulent and sweet. The abalone was cooked perfectly and the Uni tempura was creative. All in all it was tasty and service very proper and prompt. Recommended for first triers of tempura!

We really enjoyed our dinner experience here, delicious food and first rate service and excellent value for the money. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

It’s tempura omakase place with young staff. There’s a choice of 3-4 veggies (the pink lotus stem and the asparagus stood out!), 3-4 (the cod, the sea urchin and scallops are on the money!) types of seafood and wagyu beef (melts on the tongue). It seats up to 8 people at a time. The staff is helpful..., prompt and attentive. The secret to their success is the batter! Overall, a great tempura omakase place. It is $$$$ needs a reservation in advance.

I came here alone for tempura. It was a really great experience. It's a tiny place with 8 seats at the counter (very interesting to watch everything being prepared) and I think one private room. The food was absolutely delicious. There is no menu - there are no choices. It just keeps coming, and you... get to watch it all as it's made. The staff are lovely and provided some guidance on what to put in which sauces where appropriate. Thoroughly recommend!
