“300 Yen table fee per person just to eat! We didn't read the fine print, ouch!”
The menu looked good, we wanted to try some new things and the prices of things were about 130 Yen each. We ordered 2 x Kitetsu Gyiza at 350 Yen each 1 x special chicken meatball at 150 Yen and 3x pork belly skewers at 160 Yen each. Then 1 drink which as a Kotetsu (barley shochu) - which was very ni...ce for 390 Yen. We added the total to 1720 Yen but the bill came to 3,278 Yen. We questioned the bill and apparently we needed to factor in 4x 300 Yen (+ tax) table fee as we had 4 people. NOT HAPPY! - a 1, 1320 Yen fee to eat there. This was the first for us in Japan and will learn from our mistake. The fee was written on the drinks menu which we failed to read, our mistake!
